Ups and Downs

hello hello all you wonderful people!! hope your week was great, our week here was a rollercoaster!! got to talk with so many new people including our neighbor and some fun people at the store and saw a few families and helped paint a garage and garden and teach some lessons!!

this will be a quick one but one of the best parts of this week was a little unplanned visit we had with a lady who became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ a few months ago, and her desire to learn more about the Book of Mormon is so strong!!!! I know that the Holy Spirit can and does want to speak to each of us individually so i encourage you all to figure out how exactly it speaks to you!

look for all the tender mercies like fall leaves and homemade beanies and cars and fuzzy socks and cute little halloween decorations!! I love you but God loves you even more!!!

talking with EVERYONEEEE

hello hello fam and friends!!! this week was spectacular, as a mission we are working on talking with everyone which is interesting during these times considering we don't leave our apartment until the afternoon many days and we are not walking anyway and we are not supposed to go to any specific locations to talk to people...but technology!!! we've been using Facebook to find people to talk to and wow it has been great! not everyone wants to talk, but they that's how it is in person as well. i've grown such an appreciation for technology and its ability to connect us to people all over the world as well as right here in the not-so-little city of Columbia!!

HUGE MIRACLE:we were outside waiting for one of our friends, when we saw a lady out walking her dog. we decided to talk to her so we got up and started walking towards her, but she went back inside so we stood there for a sec debating whether to go back to our bench or walk around more, when we saw a couple and started walking towards them. the woman looked familiar and as we got closer she said "look, i think it's the missionaries!" and it turned out to be a member who lives in another area near ours! she introduced us to her friend, and said "he said he wants to be baptized but i told him he has to take the missionary discussions first, would you guys want to teach him?" and we were like "YES PLEASE!!" !!! we chatted for a few more minutes and then pulled out our phone to get her number, and she said "I was actually just texting the Elders, but if y'all live right here you guys should teach him" and right as she opened her phone the Elders had sent her our number and said we live right by her friend!!! TENDER MERCIESSS!! and look at technology working all the way across Columbia hehe :)
This week also consisted of lots of discussions with members about how crazy the world is now and how that was similar to the world before Christ came. i know that this time is the time for us to PREPARE for our Savior Jesus Christ to return to this earth, so if you aren't already preparing I would highly suggest you start! it can be as simple as a prayer of gratitude, reading a verse or two of scrip[ture (let me know if you want a bible or Book of Mormon, we offer them for free all across the world ;)), offering service to others, and being kind!!! Christ was the ultimate example of loving others and that is more crucial now than ever before :)) AH i love all of you so so much and hope yall have a great week filled with good things and recognize God's hand in your life through frosted windows in the mornings, random phone calls from old friends, accomplishing or even working towards a personal goal, and feeling the Spirit through prayer and scripture reading!! God is so good!!! Life is so good!!!! I love you, but God loves you even more so go talk to Him!

Spiritual REFILLED!!!! oct 2020 conf

Hello hello friends and family, sorry I've been horrible at emailing but I promise I'm not dead! In fact I have never been more excited to be a representative and disciple of Jesus Christ!! My excuse for not writing emails is that we haven't been going to computers on pday and I don't love writing emails on my phone, you can decide if that's a good enough excuse for you individually haha.

This past week was GENERAL CONFERENCE and WOW what inspiring messages we were able to hear!! We were so blessed to hear from our prophet President Russell M Nelson and other Apostles and General Authorities! If you were not able to watch it, don't fret, I'll attach the link below and you can watch or listen to any or all of it cause it was all AMAZING!!!! I know that President Nelson is our current prophet called of God and holding God's authority to speak to the whole church, but I also know that there is so much personal knowledge and revelation to be gained from watching and re-watching general conference!!! AHH SO GOOD!!!! My favorite talk (if I can even pick one) is currently Elder Uchtdorf's about adversity and how we can grow and build our character and reliance on God during our trials! One of my favorite quotes was "God has something unimaginable for you". Our loving Heavenly Father has some UNIMAGINABLE for EACH ONE OF YOU!!!! He loves you so much as His children and He WANTS to help you through your hard times so turn to Him and He WILL HELP YOU!!!! AH GOD IS SO GOOD!!!!! (sorry y'all caps just can't even express the excitement I have for this gospel and for the goodness of God and my love for Christ!!!!!)

AH life is so good!! Life has been crazy here in Columbia MO, serving others by mowing and painting and translating as well as using Facebook (if any of y'all want to add me, Lindsay Miller in Columiba, MO for some high quality content ;)) to try to find new people to teach while we are not contacting strangers on the streets. This isn't exactly what I expected my mission to be but these past weeks I've really grown to closer to my Savior in realizing that I totally can't do this on my own BUT I can do any and everything with Christ on my side!!! AH so so good!! This week Hermana Gonzalez is leaving (SO SAD) but I'm exciting to be getting a brand new missionary as my next companion and learning together how to represent the Savior and love and teach the way that He did!!! Hope y'all have a great week and see good little miracles in your lives like colored pens and cinnamon rolls and funny kids and playing soccer!!!!
